(WSVN) – The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect accused of throwing a dog over a fence.

Police say a Tri-County Animal Rescue volunteer in Boca Raton found the dog along the fence on the north side of the animal shelter property Wednesday morning.

The dog could barely move because he was walking alone.

The facility is closed and locked at night indicating that someone threw the dog over the fence.

Veterinary staff named the dog Parker and identified her as a female Shih Tzu about 6 years old.

According to staff, Parker had no microchip, no collar, and was neglected for such a long time that immediate surgery was required due to her condition.

Parker underwent life-saving surgery and remains in a monitored condition recovering at the facility.

Anyone who may know “Parker” or has information about this heinous act of animal cruelty is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS or can remain ANONYMOUS by downloading the latest PBSO app called “PBSO ” for your Apple or Android smartphone and use the “See something” function.
